Mills College Art Gallery is grouchy with SF Weekly and other publications for listing its exhibitions under galleries, which it isn't, instead of museums, which it is. In an October mailing, the 70-year-old East Bay institution protests: "In the past, we have repeatedly requested that our exhibitions be listed in your publication under the heading of East Bay Museums. Yet, despite our insistent pleas, our exhibitions are consistently and erroneously listed under the heading of East Bay Galleries. This misidentification makes it difficult for our target audience to locate us within your publication." Maybe it would be easier for the gallery to change its name to more adequately reflect its mission
