Vision Quest Bay Area women with worlds of experience tell their stories in the televised film series "Women of Vision," a multicultural, multigenerational body of work by local women directors. The program, which airs for six weeks on KCSM-TV Channel 60, opens with Jeanne Finley's Conversations Across the Bosphorous, a look at the social conditions of women in Muslim culture. The program continues Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. with films like Mary Ruthsdotter's chronicle of Latina history AAdelante Mujeres!; Gretchen Inez Stoeltje's Venom in a Jar, a Kiss From a Queen, a documentary on the Miss Snake Charmer Contest in Sweetwater, Texas; and Wendy Levy's Naomi's Legacy, on three generations of Jewish women. Broadcast journalist Jan Yanehiro interviews the directors on the air after each film is shown. Conversations Across the Bosphorous begins at 8 p.m.; call 574-6586.
