Arts Upstarts The next generation of artists and arts audiences ought to evolve somehow, and Gen Art is determined to help the process along. The New York-based agency, sponsored by Emporio Armani, organizes people at both ends of the arts spectrum, from career management programs and a slide registry for artists in their 20s and 30s to a collector mentor program that matches experienced collectors with connoisseurs-to-be. The group celebrates its San Francisco arrival with a celebration featuring a video and fashion show, a performance by jazz-funk band Neomythic, drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and door prizes, beginning at 8 p.m. at 42 Degrees, 235 16th St., S.F. Admission is $25-40; call 824-6521.

Happy Campers The Steamroller dancers, queer youth drama group DramaDIVAS, comedian Lisa Geduldig, and storyteller Kris Kovick are just some of those lending their talents to "Driving Miss Daisy (Out of Her Mind)," a group performance benefiting the making of a video about Camp Lavender Hill, a retreat for kids of gay and lesbian parents, and Steamroller Dance Company. Show time is 8 p.m. at Josie's Cabaret & Juice Joint, 3583 16th St., S.F. Admission is $10; call 621-6347.
