Wynns, the school board member, admits that the district has been on a contract binge. In fact, for a period of time last year, Wynns voted against all contracts, regardless of merit, because she didn't feel the board was getting adequate information on the particulars from administrators. For the most part, she voted alone.

"The people who run our major departments and expend large money should be employees," Wynns says.

Wynns voted against contracts for Tronson and Coleman Tuesday night. Board member Dan Kelly abstained on Tronson's and Coleman's contracts. Nonetheless, they were approved, as were another 50 contracts, unanimously, with no discussion by any of the school board members present.
