Modern Times Bookstore

Aptly named after Charlie Chaplin's anti-Nazi film Modern Times, this spacious bookstore has been providing stimulating brain food to the democratically minded masses since 1971. Thankfully, the shop has so far survived the monopolistic depredations of Amazon.com, Borders, and other profit-grubbing purveyors of mindless pop babble. Modern Times, on the other hand, has entire book and magazine sections devoted to globalism, imperialism, gay-and-lesbianism, real actual literature, radical philosophy, out-there poetry, and the best in science fiction. If you're wondering how we got where we are and where we might end up -- a corporatist-fascist-theocratic dictatorship or anarcho-commie-socialist state -- take a trip to Modern Times and decide for yourself.
