Take a store called One Half, whose motto is "Great Stuff at Great Prices," throw in a twice-yearly half-off sale and personable owners, and what do you get? A crowd of die-hard bargain shoppers waiting patiently out front exchanging lines such as, "I save up for months for this," "I postponed my vacation to be here today," and "I took the day off work not to miss this." One Half sells great quality bedding, household items, frames, gifts, and seasonal merchandise at, well, one half of the retail price. The sale usually happens the last week of June and the last week of December, right before the owners' vacations the following month. The store is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The next sale will start on a Friday. Mark your calendar for June 14, and be prepared to find us pushing our way to the front.
