Pre- and Post-Stones

Here are some places to help you get up for and come down from the Rolling Stones' three Bay Area appearances (Nov. 8, 9, and 12)

Public transit is suggested for the San Francisco shows due to limited parking caused by Cirque du Soleil's Varekai, taking place in Pac Bell Park's Lot A. Modes of public transportation include Muni, BART, Cal Train, and ferries (direct ferry service is available from Oakland/Alameda and Larkspur). Call TravInfo at 817-1717 for up-to-date information.

Curve Bar: Join Johnny Love and the staff for a party that'll keep you rolling right into the night, featuring Rolling Stones drink specials and music to set the mood. Live musical performances by Puckett Family Project (Friday) and Jethro Jeremiah (Saturday), 4-6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9. 747 Third St. (at Townsend), 896-2286.

Jelly's: Join the Unofficial Rolling Stones Tribute Band for a pre-concert 40th Birthday Bash, complete with videos, fashion show, oil-painting performance, and of course an appearance by the Unauthorized Rolling Stones, 4-7 p.m. and 11 p.m.-3 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9. 295 China Basin (at Mission Rock), 495-3099.

Momo's: Although dinner reservations have been booked for weeks, come enjoy the large outdoor patio and extensive bar menu in the shadow of Pacific Bell Park, Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9; no cover. 760 Second St. (at King), 227-8660.

Talk of the Town: If you're starting your evening in Oakland, be sure to swing by the Talk of the Town Saloon for some authentic Mexican mole and burritos while enjoying the "Unauthorized Rolling Stones Party," 4-6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.- 2 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12; $10. 4481 International (at 45th Ave.), 510-534-TALK.
