Published on May 14, 2003

As a shoe store, gift shop, and all-around purveyor of hip gear, Otsu is a haven for anti-leather consumers and carnivores alike. Owned and operated by two indie rock-listening vegans, Otsu sells fashionable faux-hide shoes, purses, jackets, and belts that would appeal to even the choosiest of fashionistas. The minimalist but stylish store also supports local artists (those who don't use animal products in their work) by selling their creations: colorful paintings, crocheted stuffed animals, underground comics, handmade stationery, and one-of-a-kind guitar straps. Its stock changes frequently, so stop in often for a unique browse and a friendly chat.
