Everything about Sunflower Restaurant feels like home. The dining room is comfortable and no-frills, and the menu is tasty and affordable (well, OK, at home it's free, but still). Among the restaurant's fine offerings is a wide selection of pho -- hearty Vietnamese noodle soups, akin to Southeast Asian soul food. But unlike most pho shops, Sunflower offers a unique option: a vegetarian pho that's just as satisfying and soothing as the carnivore's version, featuring a steaming bowl of sautéed shredded cabbage, tofu, straw mushroom, celery, and a knot of rice noodles, simmered in a well-seasoned broth.
