MONDAY (June 30): The "School's Out Edition" of the monthly "Independent Exposure Screening Series" offers 13 short films and videos keyed to the theme of summer, including Thomas Muller's Tokyo Meltdown, Laura DiTrapani's 7 Cats, Evan James' Velvet and Rat Skins, and Tom Putnam's hopefully not autobiographical Tom Hits His Head 8 p.m.

FOUR STAR

THURSDAY (June 26): A six-week series of "Hong Kong Movie Madness" continues with a double bill of Legendary Weapons of China (Chia-Liang Liu, 1982), a dubbed martial arts comedy featuring limbs that when cut off turn into weapons; and Magnificent Butcher (Woo-ping Yuen, 1979), a vehicle for comic Sammo Hung. MIDNIGHT SHOW (Friday & Saturday): Tim Hunter's excellent River's Edge (1986), based on the sad doings of true-life Milpitas teens.
