A foreign country is sending weapons and troops to San Francisco. The thing is, they're nice guys: We invited them, and they're not going to hurt anyone. Funny how things can get turned around, isn't it? The event in question, "From Bhutan to the Bay," is a goodwill visit and a demonstration of the age-old methods of Himalayan archery.

On Saturday, the archers also visit the Asian Art Museum to demonstrate the process of making their bows and arrows. The outdoor exhibition starts at noon Sunday in Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadow, JFK & 28th Avenue, S.F. Admission is free; call (510) 841-7749 or visit www.rosefdn.org.
