"Bad Kitty!" is totally naughty and totally free; Marques Wyatt spins the house; and John Beltran takes it back to his techno roots

Thursdays can bring out good moods in anticipation of the weekend, but at some club nights it's just too tempting to overdo it. Such is the case at "Bad Kitty!," where debauchery is highly encouraged. Achieve maximum naughtiness by combining a potent, fruity cocktail and the genre-defying beats from DJs Sarah Delush (aka Seraphim in drum 'n' bass circles), Forest Green, and Felix the Dog, who select from their immense collections of techno, breakbeat, and miscellaneous saucy tunes. Go ahead, show up to work hungover on Friday -- you'll have a good excuse. And the best part: "Bad Kitty!" is free! The club goes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Anû, 43 Sixth St. (at Market), S.F. Call 543-3505 or go to www.anu-bar.com.

This Friday's edition of "Remedy" features special guest Marques Wyatt from L.A. The veteran house DJ has hosted several sizzling club nights down south for many years, from current mainstay "Deep" to the memorable '90s weekly "Does Your Mama Know?" He's witnessed several generations of club scenes rise and fizzle, and held on all the way, consistently delivering elegant, refined performances. Wyatt's set on Feb. 20 will provide a teaser for his new mix CD, Horizons (Om Records), due out at the end of March. He's joined by DJs Julius Papp, Patrick Wilson, Ras Que, and Om labelmate J Boogie; party from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. at the DNA Lounge, 375 11th St. (at Folsom), S.F. Tickets are $15-20; call 626-1409 or go to www.dnalounge.com.

Though he initially moved to Florida and will soon relocate to Los Angeles, John Beltran is still closely associated with his hometown of Detroit, a metropolis that's famous for turning out soulful electronic musicians. Beltran's near 10-year recording career first gained acclaim in Europe through album releases on the influential R&S label and music that blurred the boundaries between armchair ambient and dance-floor techno. Two weeks ago he released his sixth LP (and second for the California-based Ubiquity Records), In Full Color, a nod to his roots. Beltran plays alongside resident "Safe" DJs Mikebee and Jamin on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Top, 424 Haight (at Webster), S.F. Admission is free before 10 p.m., ladies free until 11 p.m., and everyone pays $5 thereafter; call 864-7386 for more info.
