Best Video Store

The store specializes in cult and foreign films and doubles as an eclectic newsstand (you can find both 7x7and The Bafflerhere), but the best thing about Naked Eye is the friendly guy who runs the place, Steve Chack. He's a far cry from your average video store clerk, the disapproving hipster watching Rushmoreat the counter. This guy will suggest, say, the right W.C. Fields movie to watch that night, then he'll quote the movie, then, when you return the movie, he'll ask what you thought of Edgar Bergen's performance. A year ago, when Naked Eye moved to a new location just down the block, he called his customers to tell them the store was opening up again, which we thought was pretty cool.
