Almost every week, Princess Kennedy entertains the supposedly hip masses that congregate at "Trannyshack" with her wildly inventive, always blemish-free drag performances. Now, she, along with hair salon Glama-Rama!, helps host another fierce night of frolic, "Unisexy," a monthly dance party for boys and girls (but really more for boys). Here, you can arrive totally fucked-up and feel right at home at this rowdy cabaret/dance night. DJs Chicken and Johnny Kat spin, while slightly retarded Queer Eye for the Straight Guystyle makeovers are given to slightly inebriated guests. This week"s fete features German pop spectacle Torsten Kretchmar and modern dance team Philthy Choreo. The beauty begins on Thursday, May 27, at 10 p.m. and goes till 2 a.m. at the Make-Out Room, 3225 22nd St. (at Mission), S.F. Admission is $5; call 647-2888 or visit www.makeoutroom.com.

Trying to untangle the hazy lineage of mid-"90s dance music is like trying to trace the roots of a rapidly spreading disease: Different strains were born in Chicago, London, and Detroit, but before you knew it, variations of the bug ran rampant through every major city in the world. Still, it"s a safe bet that the jungle fever that infected San Francisco a decade ago can be sourced to the efforts of DJ Abstract and Star Eyes. Abstract started pushing jungle parties here when the scene was still dominated by hard-hitting house, and Star Eyes (a co-founder of the city"s seminal B.A.S.S. Kru) was a key player who served up jungle and drum "n" bass that had an ear tuned to trendsetters around the globe. When these two are joined at the tables by 4Real, MC Duh, and Special Agent Utah for "Old Skool Jungle Night," they"ll be revisiting the cherished genre classics of "93 to "97. This enterprising installment of AsiaSF"s monthly "SOMA Sessions" will be hosted by resident DJs M and Sound:Boy. Things get off the ground on Friday, May 28, at 10:30 p.m. and close down at 3 in the morning at 201 Ninth St. (at Howard), S.F. Tickets are $8; call 255-ASIA or go to www.somasessions.com.
