Trannies and sluts fill out the "Kinky Circus"; DJ TophOne celebrates his birthday in style

After spinning the dreidel one last time and watching the final candle melt on your menorah, come by the DNA Lounge to fuck random strangers on the dance floor. OK, you actually can't have sex at San Francisco nightclubs anymore, but you can still try to achieve some sort of climax at DNA's "Kinky Circus." Here, you will find some of the city's most infamous misfits: burlesque troupe Harlem Shake; Mr. Trannyshack 2004, Jay Walker; Miss Trannyshack 2003, Fauxnique; Honey & Darlin' (from Kitty Kitty Bang Bang); porn legend Nina Hartley; hosts Carol Queen and Michael Soldier (aka Precious Moments); slutty cheerleading squad the Cock T's; and a mixed bag of go-go dancers. "Trannyshack" and KPFA DJs Derek and Vixx will be spinning techno, trance, and comforting club hits. The tramps, whores, and skanks all arrive at 9 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 16; call 626-1409 or visit www.dnalounge.com for more info.

This Friday, local wunderkind promoters Jenny and Omar reinstate their beloved club night "Fake," which ran for a few years at the Cat Club and has now landed at a new venue. They call it "the inevitable fusion of everything," and they are not kidding. Many clubs claim to be eclectic, but "Fake" puts its money where its lipsticked mouth is. Goth, rock, electro, disco -- it's all fair game and surprisingly funky, as is the night's diverse clientele. DJs Jenny, Solar, Sean, and Nako control the tunes on Dec. 17 at the Rickshaw Stop; call 861-2011 or go to www.rickshawstop.com for more info.

With a jampacked nightlife calendar, TophOne is hands down one of the hardest-working DJs and promoters in San Francisco, constantly sharing and spreading the tipsy funk through his event company, RedWine. This week he's got two important things to celebrate: his birthday and the 13th anniversary of RedWine's "Annual Holiday Bash." For such a prestigious occasion he's assembled a tight list of local groove technicians to explore the spectrum between hip hop and house: DJs Consuelo Kevin, Charlotte the Baroness, Steady-P, Pause, and Doc Fu will all be on hand. And as if that surefire lineup weren't enough, a live performance from electroclashers the Paradise Boys will kick the proceedings into sassy overdrive. Eggnog will flow when RedWine S.F. raises a glass to another year of riding the boogie on Friday, Dec. 17, at the 111 Minna Gallery; call 974-1719 or visit www.111minnagallery.com for more info.
