FRIDAY: Life is a Cabaret in Bob Fosse's 1972 adaptation of the Kander-Ebb musical, due for a remake in Bush-era America 2, 4:30, 7:30 p.m.

SATURDAY: The Wizard of Baz production of Moulin Rouge! (Luhrmann, 2001) makes Jim Broadbent feel like a virgin -- perfect for the new year 1:30, 4:15, 7, 9:35 p.m.

SUNDAY: Musicals continue with the Robert Wise/Jerome Robbins social work of West Side Story (1961) 1, 4:15, 7:30 p.m.

MONDAY: The Judy Garland version of A Star Is Born (George Cukor, 1954); the uncut and restored version, we hope 7:30 p.m.

TUESDAY: Lindsay Anderson's innovative musical satire of 1970s Britain, O Lucky Man! (1973), follows Malcolm McDowell across a dysfunctional state. Here's a forgotten film due for rediscovery 7:30 p.m.

FOREIGN CINEMA
