Our state quarter entered circulation a few weeks ago, but already we're certain the image -- Yosemite Valley, John Muir, a condor flying into John Muir's beard -- will never enter our state's crowded iconography. It's just not Californiaenough. Here, then, are a few quarter designs that didn't make the cut, but that we feel best capture the true nature of our splendid state. (Tommy Craggs and Nate Cavalieri)
