Get double your dance music this April 1 with "4.1.5." * no foolin'. Plus, Felix Da Housecat brings his disco space jams to Mezzanine.

April Fools' parties are apparently passé, so promoters Red Wine and Fabric8 (an online boutique) have come up with a clever twist on this year's sort-of holiday by hosting a party called "4.1.5." Two nearby venues, 111 Minna Gallery and House of Shields, will each host a selection of top local house, funk, and hip hop DJs, including Garth, David Harness, Cool Chris, Mauricio Aviles, Pam the Funkstress, Toph One, Tomas, Apollo, Pause, Andrew Jervis, and Rasta Cue Tip. Best of all, admission to both venues costs less than the price of two cocktails. Represent your area code on Friday, April 1; visit www.fabric8.com for all the deets.

U.K. producer Tim "Love" Lee is currently living in New York, where he holds two weekly DJ residencies and is working on his next hotly anticipated album and DVD projects. As the owner of his own record label, Tummy Touch, Lee has also proven his skill at picking successful artists, most notably the band Groove Armada, one of relatively few Brit dance exports to take hold here in America. When Lee waxes philosophical behind the decks, one never knows exactly what records he'll select from his eccentric collection of sleazy listening, drunken house, and bottom-heavy hip hop, but it's always surprising and fun. Lee will be a special guest at the monthly event "Funkside" on Saturday, April 2, at 26 Mix; call 826-7378 or visit www.26mix.com for more info.

Chicago's Felix Da Housecat has long fancied himself to be some strange disco-punk feline from outer space (check last year's Devin Dazzle & the Neon Fever album or his previous Kittenz & Thee Glitz to get an idea). As a DJ, he favors sounds that range from lighthearted sex-funk to dark techno thump. His sets should come with a warning label for those inclined to indulge in anything chemical: Prepare to be alternately thrilled and scared to death. Felix will be launching his own star-bound rocket ship on Saturday, April 2, at Mezzanine; call 625-8880 ext. 25 or visit www.mezzaninesf.com for more info.
