Mighty

119 Utah (at 15th Street), 626-7001, www.mighty119.com

This fun venue has sprouted up in the no man's land between South of Market and Potrero Hill. The respectably sized Mighty appears larger than it is, its high ceilings topping the perfect room in which to hoist a giant disco ball and really mean it. Its comfortable environment is in contrast to that of many local joints, and starts before you walk in, with easy parking and little to no attitude at the door. This the club has achieved by being attentive to detail. It provides a well-stocked bar, cozy couches, and parties with discerning music policies, from a one-off event paying tribute to Stevie Wonder to the regular weekly house night "Salted" with Julius Papp and Miguel Migs. Mighty is a breath of fresh air for San Francisco nightlife.
