Absolute Adventures

793-4948, www.absoluteadv.com

No, it's not a singles' club, but judging by the number of single professionals who attend Absolute Adventures events, don't be surprised if people pair off. Primarily an adventure club, the company organizes trips for active types who like the convenience of letting someone else handle the details. Events take advantage of the best of the Bay Area, from kayaking under the Golden Gate Bridge, sailing on the bay, and skiing Tahoe to horseback riding on the beach, whale watching off Half Moon Bay, and sky diving over Monterey. Day hikes are the most popular, and Absolute has found plenty of interesting attractions: 65-foot cascades at Berry Creek Falls, wild elk at Tomales Point, and elephant seals at Año Nuevo State Park. Many of the outings end over drinks at nearby bars; some even skip the adventure altogether, instead meeting at local restaurants for social climbing over dinner.
