People get anxious about Litquake's Lit Crawl, with good reason. The event offers an awesome 35 groups of writers, a total of more than 200 individuals reading live at 30-odd places in only three hours. Since it's impossible to see them all, crawlers have to make sacrifices, and this can be a little nervous-making. What if you biff, and miss the one reading that might make you cooler and happier and smarter for the rest of your life? (We can vouch for the existence of such a thing. We went to exactly the right reading last year, and voilà!) Among the three hourlong phases are lineups ranging from "Mommy Lit" to "Celebrating the Culture and History of California" to "Kearny Street Workshop: Musings on Migration and Other Journeys." But don't worry! You actually can't lose, since they're all totally quality. By all means, scour the schedule for the bits that tickle you, like "The Beat on the Page: Bay Area Music Writers Take the Mic," featuring SF Weekly's own crap-bar-loving columnist, Katy St. Clair, among others. (We love you, Richie Unterberger!) Or how about "Bark in the Park: Dog-Inspired Readings from Bark Magazine," which takes place outdoors for pet comfort? Just stay calm, and you'll be fine.
