Prismatic melody munching with Kevin Blechdom

In an economy growing more cubicle farms than real produce, it's too easy to feel like a mouse in a trackpad world, yo. But this EGGS event — headlined by France's DAT Politics, Bay Area expat Kevin Blechdom, and Rhode Island's Lucky Dragons — proves the world can both appear and sound virtually infinite from behind an LCD screen. Shutting down your worries with the Ctrl-Atl-Dance sequence, these artistes explore lap-pop-punk, prismatic melody mulching, and electrocoustic fables resulting in a plethora of in-your-face akimbo rhythms. Adding to the snips, snails, and vector trails are DJs OCDJ (WFMU) and Safety Scissors (~scape) — dropping everything from dubstep and glitch-hop to drill 'n' bass and electrohaus. It all reboots the booty on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Mighty at 10 p.m. Admission is $7 (or $5 if wearing a recycled Halloween costume); call 762-0151 or visit www.mighty119.com for more info. Tony Ware

London's Damian Lazarus disproves the aphorism that those who can't do, write. A former music journalist (whose favorite interview was with Gonzo from the Muppets), Lazarus has made his writing career merely a footnote to his recent years of DJing, producing, and running the Crosstown Rebels label of funky yet tough electro grooves. Expect the latest in upfront music from the U.K. capital mixed in with party classics on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Mighty at 10 p.m. Admission is $10-12; call 762-0151 or visit www.mighty119.com for more info. Houston's Devin The Dude isn't an ordinary rapper. First of all, he can sing, with a sweet drawl devoid of vocal gymnastics and suggestive enough of laid-back hood life to have graced the hooks on records by both Dr. Dre and Scarface. Second, he maintains a sense of humor about himself and the high life that he lives (that is, he rivals Snoop for smoking abilities). Twist one up for a Dirty South favorite on Monday, Nov. 6, at Red Devil Lounge at 8 p.m. Admission is $15-18; call 921-1695 or visit www.reddevillounge.com for more info. — T.P.
