WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY: A noir/horror series sees a mute Dorothy McGuire stalked on The Spiral Staircase (Robert Siodmak, 1946; 7:30 p.m. ). The legendary Val Lewton production I Walked with a Zombie (Jacques Tourneur, 1943; 6:10, 9:05 p.m. ) is set in Haiti and is nothing if not atmospheric.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: The last collaboration of Josef von Sternberg and Marlene Dietrich is a love affair only Sade could enjoy but Rembrandt could paint, The Devil is a Woman (1935; 4:20, 7:30 p.m. ). It screens with the delightful musical Monte Carlo (Ernst Lubitsch, 1930; 5:50, 9 p.m. ), with Jeanette MacDonald wooed by hairdresser Jack Buchanan.
