Carnivorous plants seem unnatural, possibly fictional, in the relentlessly fascinating way that appeals to 9-year-old boys. So your inner grossed-out child should prepare for heebie-jeebie heaven: "Chomp!" features hundreds of malicious meat-eating members of the chloryphyll kingdom. The plants, who have been known to eat everything from microscopic bugs to -- grab Mom's hand -- small monkeys, are organized by trapping strategies. The sticky-paper ploy, nectar-filled pits of death, the infamous clawed snap-trap, trigger hairs, trapdoors, and the innocent-sounding digestive enzymes all make appearances at the new exhibit. Videos, booklets, faux feedings (see the Venus Flytrap in motion!), and a 4-foot-tall bugs-eye model of the totally evil Heliamphora add to the shivery fun.
