San Franciscans can try that soundtrack on for size at Live 105's BFD summer bash at the Shoreline on June 9, where Scissors were selected to open the main stage for the likes of Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, and Interpol (there's also an official Romance CD release show at the Independent on June 15). Garza hints at involving his parents, friends, and multiple wardrobe changes for BFD, but is shy about specifics. "We have a couple random ideas to make BFD noteworthy," he says. "We hopefully won't use all the tricks in the book, so the other bands can try things, too. It'd be amazing to come out in, I don't know, cavemen outfits, and have the Kaiser Chiefs be like 'Those bastards!'"
While, no, the Chiefs won't be rioting about sassy Neanderthals, who knows what'll happen after the weekend. Underhanded Romanceis Scissors for Lefty's mash note to San Francisco, and here's hoping that crush is further encouraged by pop lovers outside our goofy hamlet.
