Harry's End

Tonight, the publishing industry's best friend for the past 10 years — another fresh, new Harry Potter book — cracks its spine and emerges from a magical cloud of packing peanuts at the stroke of midnight. Naturally, our few remaining bookstores that sell new titles are reopening their doors for you early adopters, with a couple notable exceptions. (Yo, City Lights, y'all ain't got no love for the Hogwarts?) The Booksmith, Books Inc., and Borders are all in play, but late night in the Mission is hard to pass up, especially since some people will take the opportunity, as they always do, to play dress-up (and, by God, they better). Get "goodies, glitter, and a midnight countdown," along with 20 percent off the cover price of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
