It's never easy to fill your museum with anarchic drag dignitaries on a Friday night, but the de Young managed, and hosts "Cattychism: A Peaches Christ Retrospective." This fond look back at the glamorous aftermath of Midnight Mass includes a display of ten iconic costumes designed by Tria Connell (also known as Bea Dazzler), legions of wigs by Putanesca, screenings of Peaches' films, and lavish displays of photography, posters, and T-shirt designs. The rollicking party is set to attract a lovely array of high-caliber nightlife personalities, with live music by Evolution Rainbow and the macabre drag stylings of Vinsantos, followed by a musical performance by Peaches herself. Fantastic dancers Fauxnique and Salon join the movie maven onstage. An alluring roster of drag royalty will be in attendance, including Heklina, Cookie Dough, Precious Moments, Metal Patricia, Renttecca, and many, many more. Given the venue, Miss Christ hopes to see the cream of Pacific Heights mixing with the transvestite underbelly of San Francisco. In other words, this may be your only opportunity to see Syphillis Diller making small talk with Dede Wilsey over champagne and bruschetta.
