Celebrating the 20-year anniversary of its performance during the Pope's visit to Mission Dolores, punk band MDC -- whose acronym is often, but not always, known to stand for Millions of Dead Cops -- is in town once again. Also, legendary former punk venue Mabuhay Gardens is reopening right about this time. Coincidence? We think not. In any case, these law enforcement fans are the original band members from 25 years ago: lead vox Dave Dictor, guitarist "x-con" Ron Posne, bass player Mikey "Offender" Donaldson, and drummer Al Schvitz. Are they hell of old? Yes. Are they still pissed-off about injustices from Abu Ghraib to factory farms? Are they forever blunt, radical, left-wing purveyors of fine thrash? As the French would say, oh, mais oui. As the French would not say, "John Wayne Was A Nazi!"

Instant Asshole, Jewdriver, and No Thanks share the stage.
