No San Francisco summer can draw to a proper close without a celebration of experimental art about sexuality. Enter the DVD release of Other Cinema's Xperimental Eros, a film project determined to blow minds with a patchwork presentation of footage from the erotic world. The film draws from familiar sources as well as obscure exotica, such as the Mr. Nude Trucker Contest of 1976. This is the kind of bawdy deconstructionist venture that the Bay Area runs on. Tonight, the PornOrchestra Chamber Ensemble is on hand to perform a live soundtrack, fogging up the art-house windows with bespectacled symphony players and singers in burlesque garb. An ensemble devoted to reinterpreting the soundtrack of pornographic film, PornOrchestra gathers an orgy of eclectic musical minds to invigorate the triumph and tragedy of the scarlet screen. The event includes free champagne, presumably to get you in the mood for some heady reinterpretations of celluloid sex acts.
