Look Through It

From the "did he just?" comedy of Prince Gomolvilas to the sober professionalism of Emiko Omori's films, APAture 2007: A Window on the Art of Asian Pacific Americans casts a very wide entertainment net. Sculptor Misako Inaoka (profiled elsewhere in these pages this week), Jesse Bie/Steamroller Dance Company, and local cartoonist Lark Pien hold down the eye candy department. Bay Area indie talent Goh Nakamura leads a slate of bands, and the intellectual life is celebrated with myriad readings and awesome-sounding discussions including "Fetish Friendships: Interracial Socializing and the Dangers of Being Used." Events start today at 4 p.m. with literature and performance at the Manilatown Center, 868 Kearny St. (at Jackson Street), S.F.
Sept. 18-29, 2007
