The Found Footage Festival first made a splash in 2004 screening short, strange clips like McDonald's training films, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Rio travel video, and outtakes of Winnebago salesmen Jack Rebney losing his mind. Now, the more unimaginative of you are thinking, "So what? I can get all that on YouTube. The FFF is irrelevant." Maybe, but no one seems in a rush to pull America's Funniest Home Videos off the air. Still, the FFF still has plenty to recommend it. For one, it does not simply pull stuff off the Web. Curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher have been collecting their booty from swap meets and garage sales for years, and they're promising new clips for this year's run, including exercise videos featuring Marky Mark and O.J. Simpson. They also host the show, providing running commentary and jokes. Think TMZ, the television show. Wait, don't.
