Loco Dice (born Dice Corleone) currently resides in Brooklyn but hails from Düsseldorf, home of original German techno robots Kraftwerk, an obvious influence on this DJ/producer. He's better known among other techno artists than among the general public; Dice's few spare yet wickedly bouncy singles have been released on the labels of genre stars like Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, and Josh Wink. Fans of those artists' epic dance floor tracks and DJ sets won't be disappointed when Loco Dice is joined by his production partner Martin Buttrich for a special performance on Friday, Oct. 12, at Mighty at 9 p.m. Admission is $12-15; call 762-0151 or visit www.mighty119.com for more info. When your family isn't around and church is no longer a realistic option, this city offers surrogate clans of sexual degenerates with whom you can while away your Sundays – or at least every second Sunday. At Jet in the Castro, BeBe Sweetbriar hosts "Launch," a rollicking, aviation-themed, midday party meant to smooth out (or extend) turbulent hangovers by plunging you right back into cavernous darkness with your queer brethren. Go-go boys and "flight attendant" Artemis Chase entertain guests, and DJ Strano drops gay dance beats while your estranged relatives in Topeka pray that you'll stop spending the Lord's day drinking with half-naked men and transvestites. "Launch" takes place this Sunday, Oct. 14, at Jet from 3 to 8 p.m.; visit www.jetsf.com for more info. Evan James
