Laughter Not Actually Best Medicine

It must be in the sketch-comedy group bylaws: "Write skits lampooning ubiquitous and (sometimes mildly) annoying items." Local two-man company Uphill Both Ways has obliged in the past, by making absurd fun of socks, pornography, elevator music, and the rock/paper/scissors game. However, with its new production, "Insurance?!? We Don't Need Insur-AAAHHHH!!!" UBW seems to be straying from the script. Poor access to health care may be ubiquitous, but it's not really limited to annoying. Our hope: Colin Benoit and Dave McKew make the phrase "Funny as a heart attack" funny again. Our bet: Instead, the pair uses sharp observations and sharper criticism to give audiences some of that "best medicine" our doctors keep prescribing in lieu of expensive tests.
Fridays, 10 p.m. Starts: Oct. 26. Continues through Nov. 16, 2007
