HarperCollins, publisher, hypes Stephen Elliott's new anthology Sex for America with a list of males: Anthony Swofford, Jerry Stahl, Rick Moody, and Jonathan Ames. Funny — we don't give much of a shit about the dudes. It's the chicks we dig: Michelle Tea, Charlie Anders, Daphne Gottlieb, and Michelle Richmond. All are contributors to the collection of "politically inspired erotica," and lucky for us, the readers at the book launch party are exactly those local leading ladies. Even more woman is on the bill, in the forms of burlesque singer Mariel a la Mode and circus performer Catharine Fox, who has a gold necklace from the Olympic committee. Oh, and we're just kidding about the man-hating. We're sure they're very talented, and probably pretty cute when they get all mad about the upcoming election.
