This Guy Does Not Play Sitar

Anyone who claims to be "universally revered" has a screw loose. No one is universally revered. If anyone were, some cynic would hate 'em just for that, instantly busting up the whole universal thing. So there. However, having said that, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a very nice guru who wants everyone to be happy, healthy, and nonviolent through better breathing. He's highly revere-able in that way, and very popular among people willing to change their breathing habits. (Especially, critics point out, those able to afford the four hundred or so bucks for his workshops.) Maybe at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Conversation with Michael Krasny, Krasny might ask what's up with the universal thing, but probably not. More likely, they'll talk about Shankar's efforts to comfort people in really stressed-out places like Iraq and Kosovo through his nonprofit foundation, the Art of Living.
