Expert chronicler of alienated youth, Gus Van Sant returns with a tale of an alienated youth -- a Portland skateboarder no less! -- who is somehow involved with the killing of a security guard who patrols the local illegal skate area (obviously he didn't know that skateboarding is not a crime). Sant, never one to skimp on the authenticity, actually gets skateboarding pretty much right.
