We don't usually recommend highly sponsored events, but we can't resist the Barback Olympics. No, not the Bareback Olympics. That's a very different event we don't usually recommend. This event celebrates the brave men and women who work in taverns, pubs, clubs, and nitespots, yet are neither wait staff nor bartender. They schlep your pint glasses, refill the ice bays, but sadly cannot get you a drink, even though they are standing behind the bar looking like a bartender. The Olympics features fruit cutting, keg changing, and spill clean-up competitions; mysterious ceremonies; exciting races (watch the athletes restock beer!); and more. The winner takes home a golden church key. DJs Sleazemore and Shane King provide music, while production company blasthaus does live video feeds to the plasma screens.
