How Weird Is Howard?

The How Weird Street Faire gets a little less weird this year as it's being yanked, as if from a tug, ten blocks to a location smack in the shadows of law firms, nestled against the Gold Club. It's still on Howard, to be sure, but it's on the 401K rather than the 5150 part of the street. Still, we get seven blocks of prime asphalt, near BART and the bus terminal, the expanse centered by an "urban crop circle," whatever the hell that is. There's also nine stages featuring all kinds of music, a bunch of vendors and people selling food, and enough information on living green to drive you insane. Of course, lots of people will be wearing costumes and dancing. That's always pretty weird.
