Turks All Lit UpBy Hiya SwanhuyserPublished on May 06, 2008 at 4:20amThe Center for the Art of Translation's monthly Lit & Lunch series provides downtowners with brain refreshments at the noon hour; we wish we worked near the swanky gallery so we could go to amazing literary events with our brown bags. This month, the theme is Turkish Writing Today, and the invitees are Sidney Wade and Erdag Göknar, two translators of major works of Turkish literature. Wade is also a poet, author of Istanbul'dan/From Istanbul, while Göknar is best-known for translating My Name Is Red, a novel by Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk.
