Working off a template of 8-bit shock, Toronto duo Crystal Castles turns the myoclonic twitches of Atari chips and Super Game Boy blips into dancefloor fodder. Strap an EEG to Crystal Castles' oscillators, and spike waves of vintage Skinny Puppy, the Knife, Future Sound of London, and Minibosses do a pixelated hokey-pokey in the listener's temporal lobe. Known for remixes of Bloc Party and the Klaxons, Crystal Castles does high concept low-res with the best of 'em.
