Every other day of the year, the Exploratorium inspires wonder in our young people. Today, it crushes it. Not all wonder is good wonder. Wondering if your life will head south if you break a mirror, step on a crack, or walk under a ladder is bad wonder and might lead, later in life, to checking with Pluto before buying a stock or reading The Secret on MUNI. But how many of you go so far as to court superstition, daring bad things to happen? We’d never tell you to do that, but go ahead and send your son or daughter through the yearly Superstition Obstacle Course, which opens today, Friday the 13th, because that one is so full of it, too. Inspired by CSICOP, the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, the course has all the biggies, from mirror breaking to salt spilling, but everyone manages to get out alive.
