Punk rock is officially old: Jello turns 50By John GentilePublished on June 10, 2008 at 3:05pmPunk rock is officially old. On June 17, Jello Biafra, one of punk's founding fathers, is turning 50. But instead of unwrapping an ugly tie and kicking back to watch Rockford Files reruns, the Bay Area's crown prince of independent music is hosting a pair of parties at the Great American Music Hall. Both nights will feature the former Dead Kennedys singer fronting two different acts: the mighty Melvins (who will also be playing material from Mangled Demos), and a new band featuring members of Faith No More and Victims Family. From there, the nights split into opening acts Drunk Injuns and Los Olvidados (Monday) and Triclops! and Akimbo (Tuesday).
