No, Infected Mushroom isn't like tainted LSD — although surely hallucinogens will be frying some minds when these psychedelic trance stars take the stage. The Israel-raised, L.A.-residing Infected Mushroom grew out of core members Erez Aizen (hair, talent, introversion) and Amit Duvdevani (less hair, less talent, extroversion). While the scalp-shaved Duvdevani gets more crowd attention with his "antennae arms" cheerleading antics, Aizen is the real star, his fingers dancing across the synthesizer like a parkour stuntman. It's his jumping keyboard leads that elevate the group into the rarer aether that many psytrance bands aim for but rarely attain. A live percussionist adds to (and a cheesy rawk guitarist detracts from) the duo's prog-minded compositions onstage.
