Ambient is the softcore wing of electronic dance culture. It offers slow-building titillation, concerned not so much with climaxing as with getting revelers flushed from the abrupt tangents of free jazz and minimalism's paced drifts. For those into the music's gradually intensifying stroke, Vancouver's the Konspiracy Group has organized a tantric showcase called Pan Ambient Brunch. The fourth annual event features S.F.'s own Spacetime Continuum, who will be joined by locals Kim Cascone, Ambisonic Collective, and Magnetic Eagle; Tokyo's Hataken; B.C.'s Gunshae; and Atlanta's Little Jen.
