Some people think tomatoes are green, square, and crunchy. They "don't like tomatoes." In our opinion, such people have a) been robbed, and b) never tasted a tomato. Amy Goldman is a tomato expert, and we're pretty sure she'd agree with us. As an authority turned to by aficionados like Martha Stewart, Goldman grows 500 varieties of tomato on her farm. If you've been weirded out by recent tomato recalls, if you're one of those poor souls mentioned above, or if you're already growing Sungolds, Yellow Brandywines, and Red Zebras in your backyard, Goldman has encouragement. She's concerned, like so many food and plant lovers are, about biodiversity, so she'll also talk about heirloom cultivars and becoming a seed saver.
