Art InfestationBy Traci VogelPublished on October 03, 2008 at 4:21amSan Francisco Open Studios is a little like the greatest series of garage sales ever. How else could ordinary people muscle their way into the mysterious confines of an artists work space, where creativity bounces off the walls with all the energy of a short-haired terrier, and pick out the artwork of their choice? Over the next four weekends, Open Studios rotates through neighborhood groupings; today, it stretches from Fort Mason to West Portal, with the Haight, Hayes Valley, and the Sunset in between. Everyone will have favorites, but were particularly excited about crashing the studios of photographer Mirena Rhee, printmaker Noah Dasho, and Amy Sollins, who features her charcoal drawings. Did you know that San Francisco has more artists per capita than any other U.S. city? Get on out there and meet some of them.
