"We all go back to nothing." That's a quote from Fight Club regarding the destruction of credit history, but it also works for shaving. Mustaches For Kids is a charity organization in the form of a mustache-growing competition, and today is Shaving Day, the first day of the rest of your facial hair; it's the great equalizer, and you all go back to nothing. The event is a lot like a marathon or any other fundraiser, in the sense that participants will bug you to sponsor them to do whatever it is they're going to do anyway, which in this case is caring for and feeding of their whiskers. The big payoff is in mid-December, at a beauty pageant of sorts called the Stache Bash.
