Club Six's 10-Year Anniversary by Tamara PalmerIn its 10 years, Club Six has given a platform to international artists as well as budding locals in a number of genres ranging from reggae and hip-hop to house and techno. It has helped to clean up Sixth Street, and even had its silver screen debut in 2005 as a set for the movie Rent. Owner Angel Cruz celebrates a decade of surviving and thriving with another San Francisco–born institution: Mix Master Mike. The world champion turntablist started out as a teenager with partner QBert in the DJ crews FM 2.0 and Invisibl Skratch Piklz before garnering wider acclaim as DJ for the Beastie Boys.
