More About
The Contemporary Jewish Museums free Family Day on Christmas brings up an interesting question: What constitutes a family? Are you and your bus pass a family? Today you are! But the museum is also hoping for actual little ones and their parents to make their way inside for singing and dancing with Jonathan Bayer and storytelling with Michael Katz, as well as holiday artwork projects. Then, everyone can skip up to the exhibits, such as Warhol's Jews: Ten Portraits Reconsidered, the artists silk-screened homage to 20th-century Jewish notables, from Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud to the Marx Brothers and Franz Kafka. And dont miss John Zorn Presents the Aleph-Bet Sound Project, which includes sound pieces based on the Hebrew alphabet by Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, and Terry Riley, among others.
