Neptune's Gravitational Pull

The Duke Spirit's excellent second album, Neptune, swaggers with the confidence of a group that has extracted the best of its influences — think Sonic Youth and PJ Harvey — into a bluesy grind all its own. The taut energy of the London band's twin guitars provides the board from which platinum-haired siren Liela Moss catapults. Live, there's a tangible bond among the Duke Spirit's members that speaks of years making such a raw ruckus together, making fans want to pogo until their kneecaps shatter.
